I have only just realised this morning that I have been writing two books since January. I started writing The Wannabe again after a nearly 4 year hiatus in the wake of having to give up my job due to the activism I was doing on the Nationality and Borders Bill and the indeterminate sentences for public protections investigations I was working on.
Thus my 2018 essay, The columnist class, egos and accountability,
goes with Boko Haram have murdered over 10,000 people in 5 years. When will the world wake up to it?,
Britain is Just as Culpable as Saudi Arabia for the War in Yemen essays plus
Beyond Reproach? Labour, the left and white supremacy,
The #Colston4 acquittal raises questions of whose activism gets to be celebrated, Britain’s homelessness crisis shames us all
and There is a War on Black People in Britain is all one book of collated essays. Lets call it ‘Class and Egos’ for now. It is me my at my most polemical best, criticising the elite UK media class and columnism.
The rest is my life.
It's EXACTLY why my editor at Ceasefire magazine made me split up these two pieces.
On the Nationality and Borders Bill and the UK Left and For the Culture: Reflections on Black and Brown Activism
It's where all the state spy stuff and IPPs investigations should be.
