As of May 1st, a fortuitous month as it is my birth month I will start giving workshops to campaigners, new media, old media and universities again.
Workshops will include for example:
Using video, graphics and statistics to your advantage
How to write an ethical headline which doesn’t misrepresent a writer
How to give a quote as a campaigner or CEO to a journalist without being misrepresented!
Here is a write up by a Polis Summer School student for a presentation I gave to the London School of Economic students studying journalism: “We should have different voices with different perspectives”
For your information my middle name is Adwoba, which means born on a Monday. And my birthday is on the 21st May. Born in 1979, four years before Margaret Thatcher got rid of birthright citizenship. More about that here: There is a War on Black People in Britain
And that’s the type of article I have written and have been publishing at Media Diversified and elsewhere for over 9 years.
I have also been a filmmaker since 2009. The first film I directed was The Super Ladies for Aljazeera English. The documentary follows three female rally-drivers, competing to beat their male counterparts in The Pearl of Africa Rally - one of Africa's toughest motor races.
I commissioned this photo and others to document the experience and the protagonists, Rose, Leila and Susan.
A full price list and details of the content will be available soon. My assistant Flo Quinn can shoot them over to you at your request.
In the meantime, please see and listen to some of the talks I have given and podcasts and TV and radio appearances I have participated in plus videos and films I have edited and filmed for either campaigning purposes or events, clients or broadcast in the past 9 years below, in no particular order.
And here is my freely available guide to online and offline campaigning: “Fightback: Why and how we resist”
I have been a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts since 2013. They wrote about my work here How female Fellows are changing the world in 2019.
I was commissioned and published in Timeout also in 2019 Meet the Londoner working to change the face of journalism
